We had a right old shindig at our (pre) launch party at the Kings Arms, Salford last week. It was a musical & indeed visual feast, what with all the crazy costumes, and we managed to raise quite a bit of cash for Holyhead Lifeboats. Thanks to all the bands for making it happen and for everyone’s support. Later in the week, we did a bit of a live session and “put a chat amongst the pigeons” on BBC Radio Manchester’s Introducing Show, to which we were welcomed back by Sam Walker. This week, as we prepare for the EP release, we have started laying down drums for the first album proper…
Hello good people. We’ve have had a bit of a break from gigging so far in 2009 as you may have noticed, but amongst having babies and other things, we’ve been ‘quietly’ busying ourselves at our Studio Los Mekkitos headquarters, recording a collection of weird and wonderful seafaring songs. The songs are now being mixed and mastered and will be released later this year.
In the meantime, we’re getting revved up, readying ourselves to come out of our short hibernation and hit the gig circuit hard soon… Look out for a show near you!
