Our album launch gig will be on FRIDAY 25th of MAY in St Philip’s with St Stephen church in Salford. We thought it would be a cool and unusual setting! Your ticket also gets you a copy of the album, some merchandise and free entry to the after party in the NQ, where there will be DJs, live acoustic acts and lots of FREE BOOZE ! Save the date! More to follow
It’s 2012. We are all still alive and we’ve made some sweet music. Currently being polished, our DOUBLE debut album, Pompeii/Vesuvius, will be released in the SPRING on SFT Records. It’s a big 20 track juggernaut with some great lads sharing the driving, and we think you’ll love it. That is all for now x
*The juggernaut analogy doesn’t work as well as I thought it might. I’m sticking with it though.
That’s not what it’s called, but what we’re doing - After a year’s long hard work, interspersed with a few UK performances, finding ourselves and losing ourselves again and another trip to our favourite place The Netherlands! - The Mekkits’ as yet-untitled sprawling monstrosity of a full length debut is nearing completion. We’re looking at releasing it SOON and we’re practically wetting ourselves about it. See you soon
A tribute to our great friend Sir Chris Dart who passed away last May. Chris played a big part in getting The Mekkits! and heaps of other bands onto the music scene. He was loved by all and will never be forgotten…

Step right up folks for the ultimate Darty Party! Pandamonium is our way of paying respect to our friend and Manchester legend Chris Dart. This will be a gig to remember I guarantee!
For those that didn’t know Chris, I should mention his love of Pandas, he visited Pandas at zoos, he had pictures of them in his room, he wore Panda t-shirts all the time and remarkably he went to China to look after them as well.
We had a right old shindig at our (pre) launch party at the Kings Arms, Salford last week. It was a musical & indeed visual feast, what with all the crazy costumes, and we managed to raise quite a bit of cash for Holyhead Lifeboats. Thanks to all the bands for making it happen and for everyone’s support. Later in the week, we did a bit of a live session and “put a chat amongst the pigeons” on BBC Radio Manchester’s Introducing Show, to which we were welcomed back by Sam Walker. This week, as we prepare for the EP release, we have started laying down drums for the first album proper…
